In this Tool on Emotions and Feelings, our students are learning how to identify the different emotions that come up automatically as a natural response to a desire or threat.
Before a child can regulate these emotions, they will need to recognize them in their bodies – knowing where they feel the emotion and what are the clues that a big emotion is coming.
Mindfulness and learning breathing techniques is the first line of defense when an emotion seems to be taking over. We are learning some fun exercises and activities. I would love for you to ask your child to share them with you.
